HBO GREENLIGHTS WHITAKER PILOT

Forest Whitaker is attached to produce--and possibly direct--a new HBO pilot called "Fat Sells." According to Variety, the show is set in the world of the 46 billion herbal weight loss industry (i'm in the wrong freaking business). The show will center on the head of a weight loss corporation and his family, and how his life begins to go down the tubes when the FDA begins to investigate his company's claims.

In addition to this show, Whitaker is starring in the upcoming Weinstein production "Hurricane Season." He's also developing a project with Showtime that deals with the subject of organized crime of black folks in the '70's. AND he's developing a show with FX about arms dealers.

I guess it really does pay to be an Oscar winner these days! Triple kudos to Mr. Whitaker!
