BLACK IN THE DAYS

For this week's Black in the Days movie, I tried to keep it in the Halloween spirit with a really scary one in more ways than one....scary that it ever got made. The movie I speak of..."Leprechaun Back 2 Tha' Hood."

While I have been lucky enough to never have watched this movie, I did spend quite a bit of gas riding around town trying to purchase it for my lil cousin last Christmas. I know this one is gonna fly off the shelves today. Check it out!

JACKSON 5 REUNION A NO GO

Earlier this week it was reported that Jermaine Jackson put out a statement that the entire Jackson 5 crew, including Michael, were getting back together for a reunion. I guess he spoke too soon because according to Reuters, Michael put out the following statement.

"My brothers and sisters have my full love and support, and we've certainly shared many great experiences, but at this time I have no plans to record or tour with them," the self-proclaimed "king of pop" said a statement.

Ouch Michael. I mean what else could he possibly have to do besides walk around in his pajamas wearing a prostethic nose with "Bubbles" in tow? Oops, guess I just answered my own question.

WHY OH WHY....ARE THEY REMAKING "THE LAST DRAGON??"

I am very disturbed to report that it is being reported that Berry Gordy's son Kerry Gordy and Davis Entertainment's Jon Davis are taking it upon themselves to mess with the "CLASSIC" film "The Last Dragon" by doing a remake. THR is reporting that Samuel L. Jackson is set to star as Sho Nuff, the Shogun of Harlem. The role that was masterfully played by the late great Julius Carry.

I can't think of one good reason of why they would want to mess with this film. I still watch it on the regular and I don't see there being some sort of urgent need for a remake. All of the actors in the original film did such an excellent job I can't see anyone doing it better. But that's just my humble opinion.

Back to the story at hand, the updated plot will be along the same lines of the original, centering on young martial arts student Leroy Green in his quest through the streets of New York to achieve the highest level of martial arts accomplishment, known as the Last Dragon. Those who achieve the high ranking possess the Glow, making them the greatest fighter alive.

The project, announced by Columbia presidents Doug Belgrad and Matt Tolmach, will take a new look at "Last Dragon" coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Motown next year.

ICE CUBE COMES TO NBC

Ice Cube continues to show off his multifaceted skills when it comes to the entertainment biz as it was just announced that he will be writing and executive producing an untitled hourlong cop buddy comedy show for NBC.

According to Variety, Cube is not attached to star in the project, but NBC execs are keeping their fingers crossed that the hip-hop star, actor and writer will make some appearances, perhaps even in the pilot. There’s always the possibility he’ll lend his music skills to the show’s opening credits.

Gotta love Cube for always keeping it moving and creating opportunities for us.

MARION JONES TO APPEAR ON OPRAH

Disgraced Olympic sprinter, Marion Jones, is scheduled to appear on Oprah Winfrey today to give her first interview since leaving the pokey. Jones was released from a Texas federal prision on September 5th after spending six months there for lying about steroid use. On the show, Jones reads a letter to her children that she wrote while incarcarated. I certainly hope that prison made her smarter because she certainly has made some dumb choices when it comes to her life.
