THE SOLOIST

The "Soloist" has been getting some buzz lately. It's based on the true story of Nathaniel Ayers (Jamie Foxx), a musical prodigy who developed schizophrenia during his second year at Julliard School. Ayers becomes homeless in the streets of downtown Los Angeles and plays the violin and the cello with dreams of playing at Walt Disney Concert Hall. In the movie, Robert Downey Jr. plays the journalist, Steve Lopez, who attempts to help make his dream come true.
I must say this has really been a big year for Robert. Who knew that a former felon and smackhead could get out and still have roles waiting for him...must be nice. The movie is scheduled to be released November 21 and folks are already talking Oscar.
