WILL "THE PHARAOH" SMITH

Looks like Hollywood is gonna finally get it right when it comes to doing a story that deals with the Egyptians (crossing fingers). According to Variety, Will Smith may star in the Columbia drama, "The Last Pharaoh." If all goes well, Smith would play "Taharqa", the pharaoh who battled Assyrian invaders in ancient Egypt. The film will focus on his battles with Assyrian leader Esarhaddon starting in 677 B.C.

If you're curious as to which films that Hollywood has gotten wrong time and time again when it comes to Egypt, please check out "The Mummy," "The Mummy Returns," "Aladdin," "Cleopatra" as well as a gang of others.

Let us pray that they'll cast the rest of the film according to the facts instead of with blatant disregard.
