MICHELLE OBAMA: WHAT A LADY

Last night, after watching Michelle Obama's "One Nation" speech, I found myself in tears for more reasons than one. I felt like FINALLY, we have a black woman, a young, educated and fully dressed black woman (who isn't shaking her booty or snaking her neck), that's going to be talked about for weeks and years to come for this historic and brilliant night.
Michelle stood before that crowd of people from different races, from different places and made those folks see what the media never seems to portray when it comes to us...yes black people are different but no we're really not all that different when it comes to having family values and striving to achieve the "American Dream."
If folks think that Hillary Clinton left 18 million cracks in the glass ceiling for women, then last night Michelle Obama bulldozed away at those cracks for women and more specifically for the black women in American who are often stereotyped into oblivion. Last night, Michelle Obama became a hero to millions of struggling sistas out here who go to bat daily with these negative stereotypes that the media quite frequently portrays.
Michelle showed that she's a beautiful mother, sister, daughter, wife who has struggled and worked extremely hard to make her life into what it is today. I don't know about the other sistas out there but she has most certainly inspired me and makes me want to work even harder to reach my goals.
Now if we could just get a few more Barack-types out here the black community just might find the strength to finally come together and arrive at the level of greatness that is destined for us.
