BLACK IN THE DAYS

This weeks Black in the Days movie, is a movie that has to contain some of the most memorable one liners in the history of black cinema. This movie is what has been missing in the theaters for a long time now...a really funny comedy. Never has there been (in black cinema at least) such a creative storyline that manuevered it's way between fact and fiction without a dull moment.

Although Zamunda didn't really exist, it was a place that gave us all a different perspective on Africa. Until this movie, a lot of Black Americans, I think, just assumed that Africa was a real life version of the 'Jungle Book.' After this movie, I think there was a sense of pride among blacks and a newfound belief that yes, blacks can be superwealthy and distinguished too - something that is rarely depicted in the majority of Hollywood films.
