LORETHA JONES TO REPLACE HUDLIN AT BET

If you don't remember, former BET head, Reginald Hudlin, stepped down from his position as President of Entertainment back in September. Since then, it's been pretty much a guessing game of who was going to step up and take over the position. Well folks, wait no longer as BET is expected to announce very soon that producer, director, and former Senior VP of development at MTV/Paramount Loretha Jones will be taking on the job.
Jones has had a long career in the business that pretty much began with the Spike Lee classic film "School Daze." Since then, she has produced numerous film projects such as: "The Fighting Temptations"," B.A.P.S"," Martin Lawrence Live: Runteldat"," The Five Heartbeats", and "Carmen: A Hip Hopera".
I can't tell you how happy I am to finally post something about an African American female doing something in Hollywood. Lately, it seems to be all about the boys club. Kudos to Loretha and let's pray that she breathes a new life into the programming at BET so that maybe I can watch it again.
