For those that don't know by now, Wanda Sykes recently spoke out about being a lesbian. Sykes made a suprise appearance at a rally being held in Las Vegas on gay rights. In the video that's been making its way around the net, Sykes tells the crowd, "You know, I don't really talk about my sexual orientation. I didn't feel like I had to. I was just living my life, not necessarily in the closet, but I was living my life."

I'd really like for Sykes and other black gays in the spotlight to address these ridiculous claims that the media is trying to portray that the black vote in California is what took this vote over the edge. I'm black and I voted no on Prop 8 so I really don't get this whole "it's black people's fault" ideology.

And while we're on the subject, can the California lawmakers please step up and take most of the blame on this issue. I mean what kind of dumb ass state passes a law and then allows voters to vote on it. Talk about putting the cart before the horse. They are truly the ones who are to blame for all of this hysteria. But yet they would rather blame it on blacks...per usual...
