According to Variety, BET has acquired the rights to the CW series "The Game." The network has acquired off-net rights to the series from the shows first two seasons and will begin airing them in February. Said deal also gives BET the rights to the third season that's set to air on the CW starting in the fall.
The CW hasn't signed off on a fourth season of the show yet, however BET is in talks with CBS about possibly adjusting the economic model of the show so that original episodes could be produced for them if the CW passes on producing another season.
In other BET news, they recently acquired the rights to ABC's Emmy-nominated made-for-tv movie "A Raisin in the Sun," starring Sean Combs. Network also has cable TV rights to recent theatricals including the T.D. Jakes-adapted "Not Easily Broken" and "Soul Man," starring the late Bernie Mac.
