There are really no words to describe how awesome this week's Black in the Days film is. Actually, I was pretty peeved that they remade it. Kinda the same way I'm peeved that they are supposedly remaking "The Last Dragon." Some movies you just have to leave alone and let them stand alone as a classic! But I digress...
Back to "Shaft," Richard Roundtree was too cool for words in this blaxploitation hit that is still enjoyable to watch to this day. In a way, it makes me wish we were still back in the 70's when black filmmakers had to take it upon themselves to make films and therefore they HAD to be good or nobody got paid. Now we seem to be stuck in the land of mediocre and even if we get a film it's nothing as creative or cult classic as this. For those of you who've never seen this movie...check it out!
