"AMERICAN IDOL" GOES MOTOWN

According to UPI, "American Idol" is set to go to Motown for an upcoming episode at Detroit's Motown Historical Museum.

The Detroit Free Press quoted sources as saying the popular Fox show's cast and crew headed to the museum's Studio A attraction this week so Detroit music stars Berry Gordy Jr. and Smokey Robinson could mentor the show's 10 finalists through a series of Motown song selections.

The taped segments are intended to air next week before the contestants perform the songs live on the show in Los Angeles, the Free Press said.
