BRANDON T. JACKSON SCORES LEAD ROLE IN "PERCY JACKSON" FILM

Good news is on the horizon for actor/comedian Brandon T. Jackson. He's just landed a lead role in Fox 2000's "Percy Jackson."

According to Variety, Chris Columbus will helm the adventure/fantasy about the titular schoolboy whose world is turned upside-down when he discovers that his father is actually the Greek god Poseidon. Story kicks off with Percy becoming the prime suspect when Zeus' master lightning bolt is stolen. The boy has just 10 days to find and return the stolen property to bring peace to the warring gods.

Jackson will play Percy's best friend Grover, a satyr. Fox 2000 is looking to place a number of big-name thesps in the smaller roles of the gods.

Jackson was last seen in "Tropic Thunder," opposite of Robert Downy Jr. and Ben Stiller.
