Finally the day has arrived when the First Family has gotten the new pup President Barack Obama promised to Sasha and Malia. It's a cute as a button 6-month old Portugese water dog named Bo Diddley.The Bo part comes from Sasha and Malia's cousin's cat of the same name and Diddley was Michelle's father's nickname. The pup was a gift from Senator Ted Kennedy and was said to have made it's first appearance at the White House in a top secret meeting weeks ago.
According to the Washington Post, the Obamas had intended on finding a shelter dog, but Portuguese water dogs rarely end up there, so the First Family will reportedly make a donation to the Washington, D.C. Humane Society.
I could just hug this puppy forever. It's sooo cute! I'm sure Sasha and Malia are super excited - they most certainly deserve it.
