Queen Latifah will serve as host for the My Black Is Beautiful show that will follow the live airing of the BET AWARDS '09 on Sunday, June 28 at 11:00 PM/ET. The program is the latest installment in a series of specials produced by BET and sponsored by Procter & Gamble that carry the My Black Is Beautiful theme and concept.
"Through our 'My Black is Beautiful' program we hope to spark a national dialogue among African American women that speaks to this historic moment and its effect on African American beauty perceptions both here in America and around the world," said Kisha Mitchell Williams, P&G Multicultural Brand Manager.
My Black is Beautiful celebrates the diverse collective beauty of African-American women and encourages Black women to define and promote their own beauty standard. The campaign brings to life an authentic reflection of African-American women's beauty by embracing Queen Latifah as the host of the My Black is Beautiful Post Show.
The special will capture and recap the atmosphere, style and sexy of the night's festivities. Joined by BET correspondents Tigger and Alesha Renee, Queen Latifah will highlight show winners, best performances and looks from the stars that lived it all as they stop by Procter and Gamble's My Black Is Beautiful Lounge.
