VH1 is tossing a dash of “Pepa” and a helping of “Chilli” into its series pot, according to Variety.
Cabler announced Monday that it has picked up a few new series, including projects starring Salt-N-Pepa’s Sandra “Pepa” Denton and TLC’s Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas.
The Pepa project, still untitled, will follow the hip-hop alum as she looks for love after four years of a “self-imposed romantic and sexual dormancy.”
The also-untitled Chilli project will follow the singer as she enlists the help of relationships expert Tionna Smalls to find love.
Net has picked up eight half-hour segs of the series, which comes from FremantleMedia North America. Larry Barron, Kevin Williams, Bill Diggins and Chilli exec produce with VH1’s Jim Ackerman, Dave Hamilton and Olde.
Pickups follow other recent series orders for the Fantasia Barrino starrer “Fantasia.”
Is it just me or does it seem like the only black oriented shows we're getting these days are dealing with some lonely woman or man seeking love or sex...sigh. Where is the new COSBY SHOW??
