Okay so i'm headed to see "Good Hair" today and the friend that I'm going with started talking about the lawsuit that has been filed by Regina Kimbell against Chris Rock. Kimbell did a documentary called "Nappy Roots" that also dealt with the issues of black hair. Kimbell claims that she showed her documentary to Rock some years ago and that he ripped off her idea.
Above and below are the trailers of both films and though similar in topic the execution appears to be somewhat different. Kimbell's seems more afrocentric and dramatic while Chris' seems comical. Not sure how this is gonna all play out. Check out the trailers to see what your consensus is.
