Writer/Producer Kenya Barris ("Girlfriends", "America's Next Top Model") is developing a tv show for NBC entitled "Ordinary." The show is described as "Mad About You" meets "The Cosby Show," and is part of NBC's laughable effort to develop an African-American comedy series.
The show is said to be inspired by Barris' real-life experiences - he's married to an anesthesiologist in real life. "Ordinary" revolves around Kevin and Kelsey Whitmore, a married couple in their late 20's who are fast-tracked professionals with four kids.
After spending most of his time on the road as a Rolling Stone music reporter, Kevin is promoted to columnist and works from home, a change that requires adjustment for everyone in the family.
Barris, is repped by WME and Principato Young, and is executive producing with Scott Stuber.
