IS THERE A RACE WAR A BREWING???

With the recent fallout over Kanye West and Serena Williams, and the not so "Million Moron March" in Washington this past weekend, I can't help but wonder if we're on the verge of a race war in America. With newly designed outlets like Twitter and Facebook that allow folks to hide behind their computers and tell us how they really feel, I'm really starting to believe that the racism in the country might possibly be getting worst.

After reading about the Serena outburst this past weekend and thinking about the many stereotypes that folks already have set in stone when it comes to black women and our so-called "bad attitudes," I thought, this isn't gonna end well. So I read article after article on the incident and without even digging too hard the racially tinged comments began... Remarks like "we don't need this kind of culture in tennis" and some even going as far as to calling Ms. Serena the N word.

The following day, things took an even bigger turn for the worse when a drunken Kanye West put on a show at the VMA's with his microphone check incident with Taylor Swift. Again, I had a really bad feeling about the fallout behind this one because if there's one thing that racist in the country hate, it's any kind of aggression from a black man towards a white woman. So I watched and waited for the racist to show up and boy did they. They showed up so much that if you simply typed in "Kanye and Nigger" into the Twitter search engine there were pages amongst pages of tweets where folks vehemently called him the word over and over again.

Finally came the Million Moron March that only drew a few thousand folks in Washington. Folks who were supposedly angry over Healthcare Reform...no wait it was spending...no wait it was the banks...no wait it was...wait a minute, could it be because...Barack Obama is black. (dramatic pause)

As a black person from the south, you grow to learn how to tell when folks don't like you. Specifically white folks who quite possibly are still members of or have family members within that ole faithful group the Ku Klux Klan (a group that most folks don't seem to think still exists until I give them their phone number...yes I'm for real). And even more particularly, folks who paint blacks in black and white face like the photo above.

So for the last few months, I've been watching the news coverage of President Obama, the so-called town hall meetings, and the most recent March on Washington by thousands of angry white folks, and with my southern sixth sense I've reached the conclusion that these folks, just like Joe Wilson and most of the Conservative party, DON'T like President Barack Obama very much and it has nothing to do with him being a so-called Marxist, Socialist, Communist, Hitlerish or whatever other bad names they've been calling him. It's because just like Kanye and Serena, to them he's nothing more and will never be anything more than a (ahem) Nigger aka Uppity, Elitist, Socialist, Marxist, Communist, Hitlerish, Halfrican American, Barack the Magic Negro, etc.

So to conclude, I pose the question that I've been asking myself for the last several days...is there a race war a brewing in this country?

Jimmy Carter seems to agree with me...check the video below.
